Now, as much as I love Korea, it does have it's sour side. Today I hit one of those sour spots and it left me ticked off.

  • Oh gosh... it's gotta be the fact that I am up too late but I just caught on to what FSG stood for... hehehe.

  • FSG: You really took what I said as a personal attack, and it wasn't. I said I wouldn't be accepted, not you. and... If they also believe that tattooed people are gang members... and criminals, then I'm right, and you are adding to my statement, don't you agree? I just wanted to share what my wife taught me. You seem very bellicose, and emotive. I guess being a boxer is the best thing for you. BTW being wrong (as you typed in big angry letters) is the fastest way to find out what is right.

  • What is FSG mean?

Sorry if we both misunderstood each other but if you only knew how much crap fills up my email with people ranting about Koreans then I think you better understand where I am coming from.

Not to sound rude or anything but is your wife happy she's so far away from Korea? I hope she visits. We may all have our own opinion of Korea but when it comes down to it, they are people too... and much love to them, well, most of them anyways... no love for the boxing judges though!

  • I don't mean to criticize, but if I were moving from my home country to a foreign country, I would study up. All of the stuff you have been complaining about is common knowledge about Korea. My wife is Korean, and I know better than to go there trying to be accepted-- just won't ever happen. They also believe that only criminals have tattoos (FYI). Any homogenous country is going to be exactly that.. homogenous. I say go back to Canada, and be happy!

  • ...then DON'T.

You're wrong... I DID study up. My major in university was Korean culture and NO, I wasn't trying to be accepted, I just thought that they wouldn't be so racist, well some anyways.

And again you are WRONG... they also believe that gang members have tattoos, not just criminals... gang members aren't necessarily criminals.

As for going back to Canada and being happy... I am happy HERE IN KOREA, thanks.

  • burn tha pink pants!!!! JK lolz..

you can't change how older Koreans are.. you know they weren't educated well back in the days..and another thing is older Koreans kinda thinks they could say or do things to youngers.. lame excuse.. anyhow.. I know it's hard but try to ignore the ignorants and see the beautiful side of Korea.. I bet ratio of good and bad of Korea is like 90/10.. that's why u are still there and still loving it, i think..

  • Burn the pants?! Oh gosh no... hehehe. Mind ya, I can't really wear them out of the house. I hear what you're saying and totally agree. And yes, the ratio of good to bad is definitely unbalanced... definitely more good than bad.

  • Look, Life is too large for one to figure out. I was born in Korea, grew up, educated in America and ended up living and working in Europe for over 20 years. I went through something similar to what you are discribing plenty of times in my life. So, you know what it's like to be minority. The world is changing and people are learing the word "globalization" as we speak. Respect, tolerance, and understanding would be the remedy for your pain. Life goes on and you go with it baby...

  • I lived in Seoul for a year and yepp Feels familiar Appearantly there is a lot of things good girls don't do. I do martial art and have tattoos. And yet I studied at SNU To many koreans that dont add up I see it as slowly chipping away on the ignorance that many Koreans, especially olders carry with them. I love Koreans because most of them are such warm friendly people , but man... So keep chipping away! Good girls may go to heaven, but the rest of us can go wherever we want.!!!!

  • I support your opinion, they definitely need better mannerism, as this sort of thing happened to me as well.

  • It's ok, I understand. Yes, my wife is very happy here. She was not the "favorite" daugher, and was not treated well by her parents. (another asian thing) As a reault she does not have a good relationship with them, but she loved her grandmother dearly. She did visit back home (Seoul), and was glad to see her sister, but mom and dad and still a little chilly.

I'm glad you understand I was not being antagonistic. I am a fan of your cute vidoes btw. Luck to you.
