i thought of making my own Lego scanner, but i need to figure out a good solution for the page-turner-mechanisme. it looks like your solution works, but aren't the pages damaged?
It is hard to see in the video but it is there. Look closely from about 1 min 20 to 1 min 40.... you can just about see the last bit of the page (far left of video) being turned over by about 1:40.
