This IS a beautiful thing! You can checkout the ABC piece on her - it's on youtube somewhere. Very moving. I was in tears. SHE IS AN AMAZING TREASURE! I am so honored to have been able to hear her voice & feel blessed she was on this earth to lift my soul. Peace to that soulful Songbird Eva Cassidy!

@bailinnumberguy I agree! You should read her biography Songbird. Not a sales pitch, -I got it from the library long before I bought a copy at Amazon. Lovely, but very sad.

She died pretty much unknown, but before she left this earth, she was the greatest singer of popular music on the planet.

What a voice!!! I had never heard of Eva until I came upon one of her videos here by accident just today..well, maybe it wasn't an "accident". This is the only live clip I've found on YouTube of her singing. Thank you for sharing. So sad she's no longer with us.

@Barrynisman They are called Amba and Leonie Tremain and front the band called Tremain, they are on Facebook etc, based around Portsmouth cover all over UK... look out for them.

not quite the same quality of voice as aretha but still GREAT cover. I didn't think there was anyone who could reach those top notes with such apparent ease other than A.F but i was wrong! :)

I never thought anyone besides Aretha could sing this.....but Eva nailed it - like she did everything she sang. Unbelievable talent.

Eva died in 1996 from cancer. This video is but one of a few that exist of her.
