The reason why these people cannot lift themselves out of their condition is because we continue to treat them like helpless animals and THEY ARE NOT!

They were once capable and efficient hunters and farmers until a few religious numb-nuts persuaded them that their way of life was evil and wrong. The world donates millions of dollars every year to Africa but, guess what? The sick and poor are still sick and poor and the rich are still rich. Because the money doesn't go to people in Africa. It goes to Governments in Africa. It goes to their big, fancy houses, their three course meals, their suits, their cars and their presidency. And the poor stay poor. So, unless I am handing famine relief to the doctor with a patient, I will NOT be giving money to corrupt governments.
