I decided to try Sugar Waxing, here is how you make the syrup/sugar wax to use. The video is good clear easy to follow instructions. I didn't use a thermometre and it came out great! The next vid will show you the different ways I tried waxing with the syrup.

This tip from swityy1: By mistake instead of 1/4 lemon & water i used 1/2 cup each. The result was much better & wax went 4 a longer time - i hope it helps 4 those whose wax is to hard

This TIP from Crunchy 68 if your syrup cools to hard candy: soften it in the microwave, and added about 2-3 tbsp water to help soften it, this makes it stretchy & sticky even when totally cool. I spread some of that on a cloth strip, covered with a second cloth strip, peeled them apart, and each strip then worked (cold) like a pre-waxed store bought strip. Re-useable 4-5 times each.

  • I tried it but it burned my skin when I used it and it really hurt when I pulled it off. And it barely pulled any hair off. What am I doing wrong? Am I suppose to let it cool until it's not hot at all. I would have but it kept hardening. Are you supposed to add more water? I'm not sure. Please explain.

  • @KLrocketdog the answer to your question is in the video description

  • i heard vinegar is a good alternative for lemon juice, does it work the same :o?

  • @TiFFerzZehNiNjA yes apparently better

  • I followed the instructions and when I finished, the colour looks pretty similar, but it seems to be really hard :-( any idea why?

  • @meteorgardenrocks answer is in description of video

  • @yummieoreos no just use vinegar or lime juice

  • what about if its watery ?

  • i made it first time today and its gone quite dark coz i was on the fone!LOL!well i am not wasting that so i tried a bit on my finger and it worked im gonna store it and use it 2 morrow

  • I can't seem to post the url to the About.com page but just google candy temperature guide and you'll see what I mean.

  • To those whose wax is too hard: you are probably heating the mixture to too high of a temperature. If you heat the sugar too high beyond the 'soft ball' state, it will get harder and less stretchy, thus making it more difficult to spread and wax with. It's easier to do this if you have a candy thermometer but otherwise, you'll just have to go by trial and error.

  • love the ring!!! omg tottal ring fanista!!!

  • ill try this, hope itll be ok

  • @galaxydreaming OK, I reheated it in the microwave and added 3 tsp of water, and it became stretchy & sticky, even when cool like you said. But when I pulled the strips off, no hair came off. The wax just stretch and pulled the hair which hurt me. But it didn't pull the hair off. What did I do wrong?

  • how do you take the wax off
