  • Um, what.. 'trapped themselves in depression' What? Do you really think people just thought, "Oh, I know what I'll do, I'll become depressed, that seems like a GREAT thing to do." No one traps themselves, they can't help it..

  • @catlover8976 On a song like this, shall I act the part of the poet or the scientist...?

  • @Nevlamas A poet is useless if his words are false.

  • @catlover8976 "My father was an author; I think you would've liked him. He always said that poets lie to tell the truth, politicians lie to conceal it."

You do use the word false as a scientist. Writing a fitting description of depression is a scientist's work. To a piece of art, this would indeed be 'useless'. A poet does not describe, he evokes feelings as needed. You may have noticed that the sentence at hand is painted in melancholy - not reason.

  • @Nevlamas

Is that a quote from Sherlock Holmes??

  • @potterlover99 It is from a humble, vaudevillian veteran, cast vacariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. It is his very good honour to meet you and you may call him V.

  • @TheSuperSaiyanSonic *People who suffer from depression

There are obviously other factors but these are a few of them, and i can honestly say that i know of this.

  • At the End of the Day People who from depression dont all have it on the same level. And for some it really isnt their fault at all, it can literally be how they have been brought up and that alone. Some people dont have it badly so they are able to get themselves out of it, others however feel trapped and even when everyone is there helping them, they still feel trapped. Even when they try their hardest, they still feel trapped. Thats not every depressed person, but there are a few like that :)

  • @polydactyldraco55 Not everyone "lacks the will" to find it, Some are there and they feel stuck yet there trying everything to get themselves out. I would know.

  • @catlover8976 "All fools are poets; this the prefect feels; and he is merely guilty of a non distributio medii in thence inferring that all poets are fools... As poet and mathematician, he could reason well; as mere mathematician, he could not have reasoned at all, and thus would have been at the mercy of the Prefect."

Edgar Allen Poe agrees with V, it seems.

  • @catlover8976 Basic Psych Lesson: depression is as much a choice as is getting out of bed every morning. It's how you DEAL with depression, not just about feeling depressed. It is a fact that people can possess destructive tendencies towards both themselves and others, and may thus allow themselves to become trapped in depression because the state of being depressed is familiar to them. I'm outta space to elaborate, but know there is always a way out. Some people just lack the will to find it.

  • @Nevlamas I very well may love you.

  • @catlover8976 he's not reffering to clinical depression? Clinical depression isn't the only form you know? some people chose to be sad or depressed over certain things. it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see symbolism in poetry.

  • @Nevlamas 'V For Vendetta'-quotes. nice. My fav movie of all time, I watch it every year on nov 5th.

  • Beautiful

  • @catlover8976 i trapped myself in depression, but you are right that i couldnt help it, but i was still depressed for a long time, however saying that, i would of never found this song if i hadnt become depressed
