10.25 oz. can condensed cream of chicken soup
8 oz. grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup melted butter OR margarine
1 onion - minced
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 lb. bag frozen shredded hash browns

Spray a 13" X 9" X 2" baking pan with non-stick cooking spray; set aside.

In a bowl, combine soup, cheese, butter, onion, salt, and pepper.

Gently fold the potatoes into the mixture and pour into prepared pan.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes, until heated through and top is browned.

It's kinda sorta but not really the same thing, but close, kinda sorta, but not really. But it's good.

  • I add sour cream also

  • @elizabethr6922 of course no clone is ever going to be the exact thing, but it is close enough for those of us that do not have Cracker Barrels and a person who worked there before sent me the recipe and its close enough for me. So .. the secret isn't safe, though you are a good ex-employee trying to keep their "secret."
