Foreign import fears for Indian farmers - 30 Nov 09

India has released figures showing its economy grew at its fastest pace in more than a year last quarter.

But while the growth eclipsed forecasts, many of India's farmers and small businesses are struggling to get by.

They're calling on the World Trade Organisation to help as a conference gets underway in Geneva, Switlzerland.

Prerna Suri reports from New Delhi.

Unless India's population go down, the food price will keep going up. The fixed amount of land will have to cater to the needs of larger no. of people. IIf the food price keeps going up, there is little government can do other than allowing imports. Government cannot subsidize them using tax payers money as that will leave little money for other important work like education, healthcare and defense. Neither govt can stop imports hampering Indian consumer's interest and increasing inflation.

To me the most interesting thing about this vidio is watching and listning to people in india bitching and complaining about the same thing we are complaining about here in america.

In fact this import/export issue is one of the key factors that have brought our economy to it's knees.

WE are taking in more than we are shipping out,we have out sourced just about everything,and have all but shattered the dollar as a result.

Greed will get us all every time.
