My Swiss husband use to play this sport in use youth and showed great talent until he had a major problem resulting in back surgery at age 16 years....

Gee whiz, maybe it is a cognate form of wrestling that is shared amongst all Germania? Its not much different from traditional forms of English wrestling either.
