I love his books, I found his work by chance, I picked up a long way down at a thrift shop cuz it looked good and after that I had to read the rest of his stuff.

I was in the same class as Nick Hornby at school.
I enjoy his work because a lot of it is a reflection of how we were - the importance of music and (being in a boys-only school) total confusion when it comes to females :-)
Although most people find his work funny it makes me very sad because I think he's talking from the heart about how lost we feel - we're (as we said at the time) the "in-betweenies" - a very strange generation which can't relate to the generations before or after it.

when he says Tony Hawks it sounds like "tiny Hawks" :DD
but I love his books, he's a fantastic writer! ♥
