  • Uighur is one Turkish tribe in Central Asia. Just like Ozbek, Kazaks, Kirghiz. But unfornately their land is taken over by China. It is the western part of China. And it is such shame Uighurs' culture, religion, language and people are supressed badly in China now. Free Uighur

I agree with you sir, but nowadays turks is not only the ethnic groups, but they also became a Cultural Groups. The good example is the Ottoman Turkish people. Actually not all of them are the real turks, but mixed kurds, arabs, greeks, roums, baltic's people, lazes and etc. But now you can't you can't dfferentiate them ethnicly. So many other nationalities became turkic by the turkish cultural influence in Medieval Periods..

  • @USeagle1overU The origin of the Uighurs goes back to the 7th century, way older than Uzbek, who have their roots in the 15th century. Uighurs created several empires throughout history and are definitely one of the oldest Turkic ethnic groups. So that fact that the Uzbeks developed out of Turkic clans of the Golden Horde disproves your thesis, that Uzbek and Uighur are the same people in origin.

  • @USeagle1overU Hi, in the following I'll correct your thesis, that Uzbek and Uighur people are the same people in origin but got divided by imperialistic powers: The origin of Uzbeks goes back to Uzbek Khan, a Khan of the Golden Horde. In fact the Uzbeks of today can be diveded into 3 originate groups: 1. Uzbeks of Tajik origin, 2. Uzbeks of Oghus origin (also known as Turki) and 3. Uzbeks of Kypchak origin (known as Qipchak and divided into several clans)

  • @91Aslan91 yess you have a point. the source that i have is the lecture that i am taking. but i do not know the source itself, but i know that turkic ppl are the people who knows their history the most. If there any mistake in my comment, can you please correct for me? that would be great help :) thanks!!

  • @USeagle1overU I agree that those imperialistic powers China and Russia had an huge interest in repressing Turkic nationalism in Central Asia. But have you got any sources for your assertion hat Uzbek and Uyghur are the same people in origin? I think that is not true, due to my own researches. But in fact all of this doesn't matter too much, because what you're calling "Türk milleti" consist now of all Turkic speaking Ethnic groups, not only of Uzbek, Uyghur and Turkmen. There is no difference.

  • mistake occupation took place in 18 century* well, right after the occupation Russia created ethnic board line in central Asia. Which looks exactly look like current map of central Asia. Don't you guys think Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are oversized? Yes it is. Half of the Kazakhstan belongs to East Turkestan and half of the Kyrgyzstan belongs to Uzbekistan. After all, East Turkestan and Uzbekistan were connected. But Russia and China intentional divided them to separate Uighur and Uzbek

  • (2) The reason that i did not include Kazak and kyrgyz into Turk Millet is because, they were ethnic Mongols who became turkic people under the influence of Turk Millet. So anyway, occupying central Asia by Russia were probably the biggest occupation took place in 19th century. There were almost 70 million (actually much higher) turk millet at that time. So, Russia felt sick when they thought about when those Turk Millet became nationalist. They start to divide central Asia. continue on 3

  • (1) Hi! My name is Tom and i am university student in New Jersey, United States. I am currently taking special class about politic history in central Asia. I noticed many of your guys are saying Uzbeck and Uyghur are same people. Yes it is indeed. Actually, these people were largest turkic ethnic group in central Asia. It was Russia and China that divide those people into two different people. Lets call them Turk Millet (Uzbek + Uyghur + Turkmen). continues on (2)
