nice vid, I'm new to diving and fishing and when it come to reef and fish conservation i've learnt a lot more since i started. Divers and fishermen seem to be much more knowledgeable, concerned and active than others, people try to look after what they love. The grouper (roi) at 2.10 and 2.40 are invasive here and are damaging to local fish so no size limit and you don't want them to get any bigger. I think we're all to blame for the decreasing fish, cars, pollution, run off from the cane

What sport is that?

Guys, the decline in fish is due to the over fishing done by commercial fisherman. It's trawling that kills. I read (you can google it or search here) that 90+% of the catch of commercial shrimpers is "non targeted". The non target fish/creatures are thrown back dead. This is just one example. Research it, it's a crime against nature. Kill only what you consume.

@MonkeyTyme808 get all the snot out of your head the night before, mucinex works, so does afrin, but affrin raises your heart rate, it sucks. Also make sure you don't have an ear infection, when i get one I fill my ear with peroxide or rubbing alcohol, let it dry up then i use a q tip and put a glob of neosporin in my ear as far as I can. also when your going down hold your nose and blow to equalize the pressure

@omagicx
Almost anyway you can. The fish is pretty universal as far as ways of cooking.

What's wrong with those fish that ur trying to get rid of

@omagicx
The Roi or Peacock Snapper or (I think) Cephalaphagus Argus. Was an introduced fish to the Hawaiian Islands which has thrown off the balance in the reefs. Nothing hunts them and they eat all the fry of the other fish which caused major population decreases in other species. A Roi can eat up to over 10,000 baby fish in a lifetime. Way worse than any one human can do, well..usually

Dam alawaiman all i see you is take take take what do you do to give back?I personally racked up all the fishing poles and dive gear put them in the storage and just was pau...there were 30 poles out one night and told myself how ridiculous it was.Even in the 70s my grandpa realized the growing problem and for the sake of the future he stopped fishing.With everything so sophisticated in water sports now a days I hate to say it but Hawaiis ocean will be empty inevitably.

@markey808 , i see your point. There has been much change in the reefs. I do what I can to help. It's not something I feel I need to explain. This video is a combination of multiple dives so don't be so worried. The biggest problem to our reefs right now is the Roi, To'au, and Ta'ape. I try to 3 prong them as much as possible. Plus they are actually good eats. I like doing beach cleanups too when I can.
