this is the best così fan tutte ever...just put fischer dieskau as don alfonso and you have the perfection...

@NoirOrchestre Agreed - too slow for this aria! I mean, it's marked Allegretto in 2/4...That's saying nothing of the fact that about 20 bars are CUT!! After the minor passage there's a section of bravura with off-beat arpeggiation - they cut right to the coda....a shame for a voice like Prey's - he did well with "Aprite un po quelgli occhi" in the Bohm/Ponelle film. MAYBE if this wasn't so under tempo, then they wouldn't have to make cuts for time or worry about Prey's voice being too taxed :/

@nclysander and Ferruccio Furlanetto
does a great job as Guglielmo (even as a bass). I do love
this performance though.

karl bohm never should have directed Mozart...so heavy !

I know especially at 1:43 lol

Hermann Prey acts every syllable in this aria, fantastic.

No; Ponnelle's film has a very different (and, I would say, much better) look to it. IMDb lists Václav Kaslik as the director.

who is the director? ponnelle?
Prey at his best, with the same "bite" as in "Tutto è disposto" of the "Nozze". Simply brilliant!
