I always thought when they sand "Qui sedes" they were singing "Queer sadie"

I agree with your pronunciation, but there are multiple ways that this word is pronounced in professional choirs. I've even heard terrific performances with the dreaded "Egg shell" which makes me cringe, but what can you do?

Gloria, you're always on the run now Running after somebody, you gotta get him somehow I think you've got to slow down before you start to blow it I think you're headed for a breakdown, so be careful not to show it

He said we could thank the catholic church for Latin not that they invented it and since it was the church that guaranteed that Latin was used by priests until the 1960s and by all intellectuals well into the nineteenth century he has a point. Were it not for the Catholic churches insistance that the mass be in Latin and because most scientific documents (Newtons laws of motion included and he was an Anglican) then Latin would have died shortly after the fall of the Roman Empire
