This is a short tutorial on how to solder a couple of wires together. Many methods exist, but I think this is the easiest and cleanest way to do it, which yields the best result. I have used this method in harsh environments, I have used it for in field repairs, and I have used it to splice delicate cords. Take a look, give it a try!

  • is that a balance plug? are you a rc hobbiest?

  • @felixthemaster1 I am an RC enthusiast, but this is just a molex connector off of a PSU

  • @ilektronx what do to fly/drive/float?

  • @felixthemaster1 Mostly scratch built cheap-o foam planes and boats.

  • excellent video. very informative. short and sweet. I got one question though: why did you use the hook method rather then just wrapping the stripped wire around each other then soldering them together? which method works better?

  • @yourtube2456 Thanks! I think the hook method is the most versatile and works with really small awg wire. I think it is easier, too, to solder different sized wire together. It seems wrapped wire always pulls apart on me when you get down to 28awg. The hook method gets a little difficult when you get to thick awg wire. Past 16awg wire, wrapping definitely works better. Lastly,t you can get really small finished gaps in the insulation with a good physical connection.

  • Good video, man.

  • @ilektronx thats cool. I can barely repair my helis let alone build or even take apart :c

  • @ilektronx thanks for the reply. your right hook method is good for the smaller wires. I'm gonna try it out with different sizes to see what it works with best

  • i'm going to subscribe because the video was 3:45 long
