La Zona Rosa - Sept. 28, 2008

Cover of Sharp Cutting Wings (Song to a Poet) by Lucinda Williams.

The video's not too great, but at least you can hear the song.

  • @paulsuwan the song is called "map of the world"... it's a Monsters of Folk song (a collaborative project including conor, matt, mike mogis from bright eyes, and jim james from my morning jacket)... you'll probably never read this as your post is 2 years old... which oddly enough was before the Monsters of Folk cd with this track came out... would have loved to have heard an early version.

  • Thanks for posting this. I've watched this about 30 times in the past few months. I went to ACL earlier in the day and Conors band rocked. I can only imagine how beautiful this entire show was with Jenny Lewis and M. Ward. Great Audio! Video leaves mystery.... Thanks again! If Lucinda was in the crowd, she would have shed some tears. If you close your eyes while listening, you can picture Gram Parsons and Emmy Lou singing this 35 years ago.

  • anybody know what song conor and matt played before this one? it had a lyric like "place by the lake that you go when it's late?"

  • that was a great show =)
