James Leathers was there in '67 and '71....He's never returned my calls since '73..I would just like to know more about what he did over there..I fly as well and he was a big inspiration for that desire...Excellent flying on this footage.

I was a crew chief and spotter for the 199th Swamp Fox Vietnam for 16 months from 1970 to 1971. Buddy was careless one day while pulling on his gloves to to climb in he walked into the edge of the prop of his Bird Dog. He lived, but it took several hundred stitches to pull all the skin back together on his right side, back and shoulder.Charlie like to shoot at us at night and then run like the devil.

If your Dad was Rod 24, this is Rod 23 with a message for him! Advise if you remember dropping corned beef sandwich to "Charlie" from Tong Le Chon while in the boonies on the border. Tour was 8/69 to 7/70 at An Loc. Anybody else out there? Drop me a note!
