The biggest danger to sri lanka now is from the tamil diaspora as they have too much hatred in their hearts and lots of money to spare. Lets be clear that I am not talking about the Tamils from the south who have gone abroad who were born and brought up with the sinhalese and identify with them but the onion growing goat shagging "gamayas" from the North and east. They have brought the reputation of the Sri lankans in the west down to the same level as pakistanis and god forbid Bangladeshis.

There may have been a military victory by the Sri Lankan government against the Tigers. However, unless Tamils are given equal opportunities, there is a good chance that bombings and terrorism will start all over again. The Muslims get on in Sri Lanka because they have not been marginalised. The Sri Lankan police, armed forces and civil service should employ a higher percentage of Tamils - this would not simply ensure peace, it is also justice for all.

In response to Wilhum in 1983 when the riots happened the IGP of police and 4 out of 6 DIG were tamils. I understand numbers 2 3 &4 of the air force now are tamil. Until 1983 the Tamils in the south got on fine with the Sinhalese until some idiot sinhalese thought tamil= terrorist and decided to atttack them which was exactly what the LTTE wanted.

I am Swedish / Sri Lankan living in Sri Lanka, Tamils are waste and should get out of there. I do not respect them after what they have done. Now that they are all dead we can have peace without their sucide bombers attacking civilliance, If the Muslims and Sinhalese can get along why can't the Tamils ? Why can they pic up a gun wanting their own land and terrorizing people ? Sri Lanka a land like no other shall remain one power what it is today, and the Sinhalese government has done well!
