Morpeth Schools Urban Playground Global Sounds River of Music Project with Arun Ghosh

As part of the London Jazz Festival in association with BBC Radio 3, Morpeth Schools Urban Playground and Arun Ghosh gave a performance at the Vortex in Hackney, London on 20 November 2011. Morpeth School and a number of participatory music projects with organisations across the country, from The Sage Gateshead to Lighthouse in Poole, will be performing as part of the official Cultural Olympiad programme. On the weekend before the Olympic Games starts (21 - 22 July 2012) these projects will perform on one of 6 major stages along the River Thames during a 2 day festival known as BT River of Music, which features performances by artists representing each of the participating nations. Stages represent Asia, Africa, Americas, Europe, and Oceania. Global Sounds is delivered in partnership with Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service and is part of an ongoing participation programme linked to BT River of Music - the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme supported by National Lottery funds through the Olympic Lottery Distributor and City Bridge Trust.
