No On 8 Protest/March November 5th Fox 11 News

The Los Angeles Police Department declared a tactical alert Wednesday night in an attempt to handle opponents of Proposition 8, who marched from West Hollywood to Hollywood to protest the passage of the initiative defining marriage as between one man and one woman.

Protesters marched together on streets in West Hollywood and Hollywood. Several protesters stopped at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, blocking traffic in the busy intersection.

An additional group of about 500 protesters gathered in the 6400 block of Sunset Boulevard, near CNN's Los Angeles Bureau, prompting the LAPD to declare a tactical alert because of the need for additional officers, some of whom were brought in from other stations, Officer Jason Lee of the LAPD Media Relations Section said.

Some of them were detained, but "the overall indication is that the demonstrators and marchers are peaceful," Lee said.

Initially, a crowd estimated by a sheriff's lieutenant at 2,500 gathered at Santa Monica and San Vicente boulevards to criticize passage of the
measure in Tuesday's election.

Tom Trujillo carried a sign saying, "Not a marriage issue, not a God issue, not a gay issue, just a civil right."

The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously struck down laws banning interracial marriage in 1967.

"No third-party people should come in and be able to interfere," Alicia Miles said.

Blacks came out in force to elect Obama and to vote in Prop 8. The oppressed have now become the oppressors. How quickly the black community has forgotten the arguments used to prevent interracial marriage in this country just a few decades ago. Many of them the same arguments used to deny gays the civil right to a civil marriage ceremony in CA. Shame on them and their narrow-minded and bigoted stand. Blacks in this country should know better.

Sometimes they are gay couples in Dallas, Texas which I saw on the TV show Cheaters and live in person. But all I am saying is it doesn't matter where you live because they would always be gay marriage almost in every state even in popular cities such as Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA, Las Vegas, NV, and maybe Phoenix, AZ.

Long term homosexual relationships occur naturally in baboons, dolphins and certian monkeys. Not just one time incidents, but long term partnerships (in the wild as well as captivity). Homosexuality is naturally occuring. I wonder if animals have free will or the ability to sin?

If you look at genisis it says that god judged all flesh because it had corrupted itself. God told the animals to be fruitful and multiply. I doubt that you can show gay sex took place prior to straight sex. It is true that you can freely choose to sin against God. You seem to have the problem of not seeing your sin as sin as God does. Therefore you can't seem to want to turn from it. Instead, you make up all these ideas about how your particular behavior is fine; how your beliefs are valid.
