People's Postcode Lottery winner IV17 0XN - Ardross - 9 April 2009

It was a long journey but more than worth it: this week Angus and his team travelled to the beautiful town of Alness in the Highlands to deliver a £30,000 Easter surprise to postcode sector IV17.

Best known for its many Britain in Bloom awards, Alness is home to 275 sector winners and one very lucky street prize winner- Mr Donald Howarth, who plays with two tickets and so scooped the entire £25,000 Street Prize!

A delighted Donald exclaimed This is wonderful- weve never had money like this before, and we certainly never dreamed wed win anything as huge as this! Donald and his partner retired to the area after running hotels and restaurants in Cornwall, and have been happily settled in picturesque Alness for over twenty years.

Plans for a holiday are now afoot for the pair, and it seems the Highlands area might be on a Postcode Lottery roll- Alness is the fourth town in the Inverness area to win our weekly Street Prize! The area has twice won the Postcode Belter- Balloch won £1,108,000 mere weeks ago- so theres never been a better time to sign up!
