6 week old baby Caique parrots

These babies are about 6 weeks old and getting around very well now. They are learning to perch, eat, and get around to look for something fun to play with.

So cute :) I`m also constantly wishing to be a breeder of conures, caiques, parrolets, parakeets, ect. I`m just curious, why are Caiques more pricey than similar sized birds?

caiques take 12 to 16 weeks to wean where as other small birds take 8 to 10 weeks to wean. I would say that is the reason for the difference in prices. caiques are also much more difficult and time consuming to wean.

They both are such silly girls!! I found little sister had climbed to the top bars of her cage this afternoon and was screaming cause she didn't know how to get down. Big Sis was screaming back at her, I guess she was giving her opinion of how she could get herself back down.

She does seem to be very inquisitive and independent. My heart almost stopped a couple of times when she was at the edge! :-0 Thank you for sharing those precious little babies.
