They've closed the local lanes; all the traffic has been funneled into the express lanes, and they're encouraging trucks to stay on the expressway and cars to use designated alternate routes. Yeah, right.

You can hear the impact as the blade on the back of that truck slams into the asphalt. What you can't feel is the vibration that shook the ground, not to mention dishes, CD's, windows and anything else that wasn't nailed down.

That orange writing on the Jersey barrier warns about an underground water line. Let's hope that, and my sewer line, didn't get damaged.

  • what kind of old school technology is that truck? Why dont they use asphalt grinding machines , a lot less noise and more efficient as well

  • This is Chicago. When they're awarding demolition and construction contracts, efficiency means nothing; connections do.

What's that old line, "We don't want nobody nobody sent."

  • If they dident work on the roads they will be pot holes all over that waste money to patch them all the time! And stop your bitching its for a good reason!

  • Did I say the Ryan didn't need to be rebuilt? But there's a way to do it and a way not to do it, especially when an interstate goes through heavily populated areas like ours. And yes, WE were here before the expressway (not that it should make a difference).

And, bonehead, for your information, IDOT had to back off some of its poorly-planned permanent ramp closings because of our "bitching", as you put it.

  • What did you do to be punished by Thor like this?

  • One last, desperate retaliation from Dorothy Tillman, no doubt;-)

  • @J0Boa artistmac is a idiot he is just one of those idiots that sit on their asses and complain about every little thing this guy should get his video camera smashed by us.

  • @artistmac shut up you low life

  • Yea I worked on the rayn as a surveyor that year. i feel bad for the operator. looks like he is moving at 1mph. it was horrible for us when we were using robots for layout. those machines would always knock our equipment off level.

  • @brokemjg Thanks for the info. Cool machine but I would not want it near my house. I feel bad for the guy who posted the video.

  • @J0Boa that truck is called a Antigo. you are right if there were only asphalt they would grind it. but here the do grind the asphalt but underneath it there is 8-12" of concrete. That is what the Antigo is doing. It Breaks the conc to help the backhoes demo it quicker.
