i work in a bodyshop ,i get 2 hours to produce this sort of finish ,and am expected to earn bonus on that as well .... people will not pay the time to have it done properly , but expect perfection ......

VERY NICE JOB! EXCELLENT RESULTS...
ONLY ONE QUESTION FOR YOU..
HAVE YOU SANDED THE SURFACE BEFORE BUFFING WITH FAST CUT PLUS?
I KNOW THAT IS AN ABRHASIVE PASTE,MORE AGGRESSIVE THAN A POLISH....
I WANT TO USE IT IN A REGULAR CICLE OF FAST CUT FIRST,EXTRAFINE FOR SECOND AND ULTRAFINA SE FOR THIRD...WITH THE DEDICATES PADS OF THE SAME CAP'S COLOUR ...
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU DIRECTLY CUT DOWN WITH FAST CUT...
THANKS IN ADVANCE..

@Audiquattroavant ... Thanks, I did not wet sand the paint surface, only compund, polish then refine. I used a mix of Fast Cut plus and Ultrafina (3:1) because I was working outside the warm panel temperatures was causing the FCP to dust quite quickly.
BMW paint is very bad for orange peel, I would wet sand if I had a good workshop and the time to polish, maybe one panel per week ?
Cheers,
Si.

@4578simonhi THANKS FOR REPLY ME FASTLY...
I was afraid to use FCP on my Audi wthout sanding before...we have similar paintwork colour...
As you know, black it's maybe the bastard colour if don't properly worked...And i hate the bodyshop type of correction...Here in Italy, most of works are too fast, noone it's right dedicate to the other's car..they works with an eye on your paintwork and another eye to the clock...
Maybe we are too perfectionists, but the results of our work pay us for sure.....

@Audiquattroavant Try starting with the Ultrafina first, maybe with Audi (German) hard ceramic paint finish you will need FCP but try less abrasive to begin with. I really liked Dodo Juice Limeprime with Yellow 3M waffle pad, very oily, nice long work time, good abrasives and my main polish. It is a great paint cleaner if not correctly too heavy swirls.
For sure if I am compounding then I will use FCP.
Good luck, let me see the results when you have finished.
Ciao.

I really liked LP, great for using outside due to it's oily nature it doesn't dry out too quickly, having a nice long work time, I know people that swear by the LP with a 3M yellow waffle polishing pad, that's what I used and it turned out pretty good. It's best to see it as a paint prep stage for your LSP although it did knock out some of the holograms and very fine swirls, bear in mind I used 3M fast cut plus to do most of the polishing and compounding, the LP was mainly to refine the finish.
