During 2003 there where experimental performance events/experiments created in Norway by the experienced telepresence researcher Claus Knudsen in cooperation with a team of artists.

The event took place physically at two places synchronously. At one place there was conventional audience seating facing a small stage. During the performance event was the physical stage occupied by two percussionists. At the other location were the dancer, Silje, and the telepresence producer, Claus, located.

Beside the mentioned two physical locations was a third room created in the performance event. This was a non-physical room built using the video mediated representations of its inhibitants. The room posesses many of the features that we traditionally consider it normal that rooms have yet it lacks one of the most fundamental ones, a single distinct location. It has a boundary, it has population, it can be furnished with artifacts, but it can also exist equally in any number of locations.

Without getting too technical and presenting a high level of detail regarding the experimental event setup, we here present some video clips that we encourage you to explore. You will probably find interesting questions and produce wonderful ideas as you go along which will be of benefit to the COPS Performance Event in June 2004.
