i really loved ur review. i totally agree with everything you said, but i was just wondering why you didnt talk about anna kendrick?...i know a lot of people dont like her acting but i happen to really love her. have you seen rocket science? shes in it and it has a juno-esque quality about it, i thought she was great in that movie.

I'm not a big fan of Clooney's, unfortunately, and mainly because a point you touched on; I rarely feel he's a character -- he's always Clooney to me. It's strange. But the movie does seem pretty neat. It's getting rave reviews. I liked this review, btw. You seemed to really dive into this one.

Are you a fan of the Academy Awards? I find myself growing further away from the whole thing because I don't feel the Oscar winners are truly worthy. That is not to say they aren't good films, but the Academy just seems to be very biased. It seems to be more about connections than merit.
Furthermore, with the boom of international film making, the Oscars are even less representative of the best films of the years.
I'm very split on this issue but I'd love to hear your opinion.

oh nothing makes me more angry than the academy awards! I despise them. The academy is absolutely biased. They wouldnt know best picture if it hit them in the face! I just like oscar season because thats usually when the better films come out, mainly because they are all lobbying for recognition. I will defintely be posting my thoughts and predictions on the oscars when we get closer. :D
