Bottom Bracket Problem on Trek 4900

Trying to figure out how much it might cost to fix my bike.I don't have any $$$ right now so taking it to a bike shop is out of the question. Anyone have a range of possible repair costs based on my video's information? I mean is it something I could repair with a crank pull wrench?

  • I am going to completely rebuild my 2003 trek 4900 because I just destroyed all of the components on it. the only things I will not replace are the frame, stem, and handle bars

  • also watch plenty of your tube videos on bike repair.. a few are pretty helpful...

    for example

I like the vid by leonardmlee on rear derailleur tuning.. its perfectly explained and the derailleur on my trek 4900 working perfectly...

  • you need to replace bottom bracket dude.. you might even want to get a whole new crankset or upgrade to nicer 2 piece one...Get a book on bike repair from a store or library, then get the few necessary tools to replace bottom bracket.. Its cheaper than goin to a mechanic and then you'll always have the tools.. and know how..
