Arduino used to measure fan RPM with radio-shack 276-0142 ir detector pair. Uses the Timer1 library to get an interrupt every second which measures a counter incremented by another interrupt on pin2. Pin2 goes out to the collector of the phototransistor which is using a 100kohm load resistor and a 5v vcc.

  • Hi @axel1973w - it took some trawling, but I have found some of my original documentation and posted it on my website. Strangely I cannot post the link here, but it is in my profile.

If you find it at all useful, please like/tweet/bookmark/subscribe me :)

    Thanks!
