Super simple and practically free, this is a great way to recycle old newspaper. When it's time to plant the seedling in the ground, just trim out the bottom of the pot and plant the whole thing! Newspaper is also said to protect seedlings from cutworms, too.

  • @stuzaza I think the kids would love making that one too!

  • Hey, Look who's the genius! Thanks, and you even put them in a mini green house! Can't get any 'greener' than that! I will do this too!

  • what you can do is make a paste from wet newspaper and flour - paper mache - and mould cups with your hands and leave to dry. a hole thru the bottom and your good to go

  • The pot gets soggy, but it holds up nicely. Be sure to leave it in a tray. The soggy paper pot can just be planted directly in the ground in the spring. The roots break through the paper easily.

  • Can u water the plants even if it's in the newspaper pot or would the pot get soggy?

  • Cool idea!

I would use a glass without a draft....

  • Thanks!
