  • Physical attacks are already criminalized. What this does is add extreme penalties if they think your attack was motivated by 'hate'.

    It is ridiculous to try to get into the mind of somebody who committed a crime. All hate crime legislation is an affront to free speech and thought.

  • thought can now be considered "attempt to commit a hate crime". i read this off HR 1913 RFS.

  • free speech died a long time ago.

  • If Rep Steve King wants to think about beating up gays he's welcome to it, he can fantasize all he wants to about it.

  • Calling someone a faggot isn't a physical attack, it's someones free speech.

  • it doesn't criminalize thought, it criminalizes physical attacks
