Breathing in and out like an accordian of eternal spring for lovers, against a backdrop of ever sinking downwards with the optimism of the most innocent Swallowtail Butterfly,
Borodin creates the most radiantly exuberant and colorful music I've ever heard. This quartet must be composed of demi-gods because unlike most performers that you'll ever hear they never are caught "playing music".Instead this is pure cinema and feeling.Thank God!

I'm playing this with my string quartet. It's such a beautiful piece. The Borodin Quartet has done a really great job with it.

I love this piece. I really think it's simply beautiful. I'm playing it currently as well...young as I am, I think that this is really expressive enough to fill your heart.

Is this a piece in sonata form? Exposition, development and resume seem to be but the key relationships?

ragingviolinist, i play viola, and i really pity your second violin and violist. they must be quite bored, because I too am playing it with my quartet, and I am bored out of my mind. I have to admit it *is * beautiful though...
If you can edit titles, can you name the movements in the title?
Thanks for putting this up, I think Borodin is incredible.
