I agree that carbon taxes are just another tax ... but Australian tax payers were stupid enough to vote in a government when they promised a Goods and Services tax !

Carbon trading means money will go to corporate coffers instead of the government.

Neither will do anything for the environment.

Unless government promises specific carbon-reducing expenditure, a carbon tax will not reduce CO2 emissions, It will just shift emissions from the private to the public sector.

Nobody should therefore expect a carbon tax, in isolation, to have any effect on aggregate CO2 emissions.

And with all the extra money burning a hole in their pockets, the chances are that governments might just indulge themselves in foreign policy excursions for their armed forces.

The IPCC models don't even take into account the effect of solar cosmic rays on cloud formation ... the most likely cause of the current cooling (and recent warm cycles).

IPCC models only consider solar radiance.

The effect of CO2 increases is insignificant.

I'm well aware of the "Milankovich cycle".

Positive feedbacks don't exist in nature ... at least not for any length of time. If our atmosphere was based on positive feedbacks, it would have disappeared 4 billion years ago.

Think of the positive feedback when a speaker is placed too close to a mic ... the sound rapidly amplifies until in blows a speaker or someone turns off the power.

Most importantly, there is NO recent "alarming" warming ... or any evidence to support it !

The simplest question for alarmists is where can we see the "alarming" warming ?

The past 7 yrs ... nah, strong cooling ..

The past 11 yrs ... no, slight cooling

The past 30 yrs ... no, same rate of warming as 1910 to 1940

The past 60 yrs ... no, less warming than 1910 to 1940.

Where is the "alarming" warming ?

Where is the evidence than man's CO2 is causing any of it ?

"Corrected" ? No one now disputes that ice cores show that CO2 follows temperature increases.

Al Gores ridiculous movie also forgot to point out what caused CO2 to increase then stop increasing ... we are to presume aliens I suppose ?
