So begins my video series on the two biggest names in the racing genre Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. Of course, because Im trying my hardest to avoid fanoybism of any kind, my purpose in these videos is not to determine which game is better. I think thats a rather immature and pointless purpose.
Instead, what I aim to discuss here is in what areas the two games will be different, in what areas they push the racing genre forward, and in what areas they arent as good as their other competitors like Race Driver GRID, GTR, and the most recently released Need for Speed: Shift. Its a look at the racing games industry and not a console war shit that so many gamers these days get sucked into.
So this is my introduction to such a discussion. I hope you enjoy and please feel free to comment about your thoughts on the two upcoming games or about what you think about my thoughts on these two games
Is that why you called your series GT5 and Forza 3 instead of GT5 vs Forza 3?

@jayjjj3 yes, the title of my vids on this topic was completely intentional. I wanted to discuss what these two games were doing for the racing genre. I did not want to just compare the two games, which have the unfortunate effect of doing nothing more than promoting unnecessary fanboyism.

at this point, it's still nothing more than a rumor.
Def awesome if true tho.
I don't really think I'd utilize the feature that much, except peraps to see what other users will come up with. I'm more of a player and not much of a creator.

I agree about the weight and physics for GT5's favor. Just because you can race careless like in Burnout does not mean the physics is realistic. I think Forza made a good step to oblige newcomers but I think they just stepped too far and lost the simulator aspect...
Major thumbs up for 10:07 I've heard many stories like these...

Yea, stories like that regarding Gran Turismo are really amazing to hear.
Now, I can understand why Forza can seem like it went too far with its casual elements but you know, the rewind feature and one-button driving mode and stuff like that are all optional and doesn't affect the realistic physics engine that Forza 3 has in place so I don't really think it lost the simulator aspect. It can however definitely be off-putting for some people.
