Looked like it was in a very awkward position... pitched back on a tilt, however i'm no expert xD. I don't even know it it was moving forward as the helicopter seemed tilted backwards.

Cette semaine je viens de voir 2 hélicoptères comme celui ci décollant de la base militaire de Biarritz ( France ).
Vraiment des montres, énormes.

Yeah its a Royal Navy Sea King with callsign Rescue 177 from HMS Gannet based at RNAS Prestwick in Scotland.

i don't think that the Royal Navy rescue helicopters lift off from ships, i think they are stationed at land bases

the Cab is from 772 sqn if it's up in Scotland, i worked in 771 sqn at Culdrose

Well i have learnt something....that helicopter can hover...but *yawn*

I'm sure that it can hover. However, given that the ferry is moving at a fair rate towards the mainland, the helicopter isn't hovering in the video. If it was, it would quickly be left behind which would rather defeat the purpose of the training exercise.
