Captiva Island in Florida is a place where Calusa Indians once called home, and where conquistadors explored. Today, it is a popular destination for family vacations, romantic weddings, and weekend getaways. In short, this is a place where people of all ages can come and have a great time. Too bad that this channel died. I liked the vacation info. But all the political government stuff was very poor.

Captiva is my absolute most favorite place on Earth. The sunsets can only be described as breathtaking. RC Otter's is my most favorite restaurant anywhere. My wife and I are taking our baby girl in October 2011 and can't wait to get there!

My wife and I were married on the beach, and had a whole coconut cake from the bubble room for our wedding cake! Beach houses are very reasonable and the beaches are beautiful, shells everywhere, the sunset grill is great for a romantic dinner, can't say enough about this beautiful island!

My wife's sold on Sanibel, but Captiva is my adopted home! We're going back in April, and hopefully retiring there in 27 years!
