http://www.delawareblack.com - 1/16/12 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) - Protesting the awarding of $ 1million dollar grant given to the "Delaware Historical Society" to develop a center for an Afro American Museum. Many feel a slap in the face of the black community and its leadership. Former Mayor Jim Sills is President of the black run group who submitted a proposal to the City of Wilmington and was denied access to these funds. Other speakers on the video include Harmon Carey, Ruth Baker, Lance Bruce, Elizabeth Allen, Herman Holloway Jr.
Thank you so much for reporting on this historic event. WDEL refused to cover it while one of their employees has written on the blogs his adamant opposition. The fight is not over, its only begun. Idiot Baker has always been concerned about the NEW city, while the old city continues to rot...having the museum on the east side is precisely where black history and should be, there are several historic sites on the east side that should be developed to give citizens a TRUE history.
