'Study in G by Napoleon Coste' played by Dave W from Jerry Willard's 50 easy solo's collection published by Music Sales Corp. Probably equal to a Level/Grade 2 piece. Hope you'll enjoy this and thanks for watching.

  • In the early weeks of my learning, the first few pieces I played were from J Willard's book. A lot of good stuff there. Sweetly played, Dave!

  • @jnclassicalguitarist Ouch, now that's turned me off, I'm 4.5 years at this stage, not the first few weeks. Have I missed something?

  • @DavetheIV

Oops, sorry Dave. Too early in the morning, I meant years. What an idiot, I am.

  • @jnclassicalguitarist Thanks J, had me thinking I'm more of an old clueless duffer than I really am. Still might be true though! I'm actually finding that returning to earlier less technically demanding material, as I have been doing for uploading purposes is paying big dividends & has been giving me the chance to SLOWLY modify LH hand & arm positioning. This appears to now be slarting to come good. See ya soon XX

  • @DavetheIV. Yes, it's interesting to return to earlier material. I find new, easier fingerings and a different way to play them. Arm positioning? That's new to me.

    Later,

    J xx

  • @jnclassicalguitarist I was sure that in one of your uploads you mentioned that Mr Flores had suggested you drop (or raise) your LH wrist and elbow to aid better finger positioning. Could be that I was dreamin this of course? at my age the memory has already faded, maybe it wasn't even there in the first place considering the difficulty of trying to memorise pieces!!

Good memory, Dave. That was a long time ago! Mr Flores suggested I change my RH position to improve my tone, in addition to new nail shape. We're still experimenting right now. He's still not very happy with my tone!

  • @sguitar Thanks Sarah, I look forward to your encoraging comments always.

  • Looks like you have a nice sommer day in England!!! Enjoy the sun!!! Beautiful playing again of course!! :-)
