this is one of the very first futuristic cartoons ive came across w/ back in the 80's..it was aired every 5 pm so i better be home by then to watch it..i was about 7 or 8 back then.now im 34 & just listening to the theme song transforms me back to 1983 as a kid staring at the tv..makes the hair on my nape stand..hehe.good old school anime..

btw if you like Star Wars, look at my favorites (George Lucas talks about the influence of samurai movies on Star Wars, Darth Vader vs Japanese Police).

Prior to 'Yamato:Rebirth' and 2010's live action movie, there WERE 3 other movies made. Just look on youtube- they're NOT hard to find...

@jeffbiggles These were on at 7am before school where I lived. I remember watching it and then talking about it with my friends before school. I loved that show.

use to watch this everyday at 5pm afterschool,a great cartoon,the best i think.should be made into a movie on the big screen.
