1) GO TO ytlayouts.net.
2) CHOOSE ANY LAYOUT.
3) I CHOOSE THE ABSTRACT LAYOUT.
4)YOU CAN PIMP UP THE BG IF U WANT.
5)CLICK ON Background Image its under Advanced Design Customization.
6) right click on the picture and click "save picture as".
7) save 2 ur desktop.
8) on ur youtube account click EDIT CHANNEL
9) THEN CLICK CHANNEL DESIGN
10) GO DOWN UNTIL U SEE BACKGROUND IMAGE
11) CLICK BROWSE
12) GO TO UR DESKTOP AND CLICK ON THE PICTURE
13) CLICK UPDATE CHANNEL
14) THE PICTURE TAKES 2 MINUTES TO LOAD UP TO UR CHANNEL SO DO SOMETHIN ELSE
15) COME BAK TO UR CHANNEL AFTA A WHILE AND UR YOUTUBE CHANNEL WILL HAV A CUSTOM BACKGROUND.

Well, I never found "Advanced Design Customization" but, I did change my background thru the "show advanced options" link that comes from the "Themes and Colors" drop down box on my profile!
