Don't miss my other anthems! So far, the parodies for the UK (twice), Canada, Germany, Norway, France, the US, Russia, Italy, Sweden, China, Japan, Israel, North Korea, Australia, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Denmark, Mexico, Turkey, CSA, Cuba and more have been released.

La marcha real ("The Royal March") is the national anthem of Spain. It is one of the few national anthems in the world to have no official lyrics. The anthem, one of the oldest in the world, was possibly composed by Frederick the Great of Prussia. The melody was first printed in a document dated 1761 and entitled Libro de Ordenanza de los toques militares de la Infantería Española (The Spanish Infantry's Book of Military Bugle and Fife Calls), by Manuel de Espinosa. Here it is entitled La Marcha Granadera ("March of the Grenadiers"), although no composer's name is given.

In 1770, King Charles III declared the Marcha Granadera to be the official "Honour March" for the Sovereigns and the Royal Family, as it was played at public and ceremonial events, and because it was always played at public events attended by the royal family, Spaniards soon came to regard the Marcha Granadera as their national anthem and called it the Marcha Real, or "Royal March".

I mean no offence to the countries parodied. In fact, most of these countries are my favorites, and I wish them all my best. Although I do not support certain parts of the Spanish policies and culture, as Nato members, they contribute to making the world a place of liberty, freedom, order and light.

-----

I do not promise anything, but if you want me to make a parody of YOUR national anthem, your country could be next, given that it is a nation of some international or historical significance. Requests should be made as comments to my videos; i check my PM inbox less often!

  • Thdubya, are you sure you are not american?

Why you mention the US in all your anthems?

And make emphasis in the defeats on war in every country?

  • @mexicanpowerboy I'm pretty sure, although I have never seen my birth certificate. I might have been born in the US, but as far as I know, I am now a Norwegian citizen only, and I have only one passport. I'll investigate it further, but I can say that I'm more than 99% certain that I am, and always has been, fully Norwegian.

I wouldn't really say that I reference the US in ALL my anthems, but I agree that I focus more on them than the average European person would.

I like the US and history.

  • @ThDubya Jeg vil si at du ikke har behandlet den tyske nasjonalsangen spesielt vennlig. Spesielt siden folk hadde støttet den nazistiske ideologi i Norge med begge hender!

  • @DietrichBrauer1 Hva behager? в Вашем профиле она говорит, что вы из России, aber Sie schreiben die meisten Ihrer Kommentare in Deutsch, and suddenly you write a comment in Norwegian. I suspect that the latter was a good ol' Google Translate, since it was a little weird but are you an German living in Russia or what?

  • @DietrichBrauer1 No, it was pretty good, although I have never heard the expression "med begge hender". My German is very poor, so please keep the conversation in Norwegian or English.

  • @Inkyminkyzizwoz orly?
