Hey everybody. This video will show you how to SSH into your iPod touch or iPhone using FileZilla, a free FTP client that works on Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. It's just like WinScp. Here's what you need to do:
1. Go to this site:
filezilla-project.org
and go to the download section for the CLIENT, not the server. Be sure to download the correct installer for your OS.
2. Install FileZilla, launch FileZilla
3. Make sure that you have OpenSSH installed on your iPhone/iPod touch, and an app like BossPrefs or SBSettings so that you can turn it on and off.
4. Next, hit Control+S to open up the site list
5. Click add new site
6. In the host section, type the iP Address of your device
7. In the port section, type in 22
8. Select SFTP as your servertype
9. Enter the username root
10. Enter the password alpine
11. Hit connect
After you hit connect, a popup window might appear, just select cache this device or cache this key, whatever it says. Just make sure that you cache it so that you can connect to it quicker next time.

  • @iAMaReaperGotprobZ nearly forgot uhm... you should type before the ip sftp:// it actually does it by it's self but just saying. Thumbs up if it worked! And please subscribe...

  • you don't need to open the site list just if you wanna save it, anyways who would wanna a static ip for the iDevice lol, on QuickConnect type the IP, then on username root, and then on password alpine, and the port 22... Wait a bit and then it should pop up saying a warning, just press ok and it should come up :D hope I helped...
