Sorry; this doesn't hold a candle to the Springsteen version (and I'm a Cardigans fan).
This just sounds like someone going through the motions. Springsteen's version is pure heartbreak.

Sometimes people just like singing a good song.

What's funny is that Scarlett Johannsen was born in 1984 and this song came out in 1984 by Bruce Springsteen

slopy cover, but its good to hear this song from a lady.
p.s best one is the badlands cover:)

@1984BIGJ i appreciate their good taste in music and the tribute to one of the greatest....but it doesn't capture the gut-wrenching emotion that bruce put into songs such as this one and "The River".

@mbf111 hey, thanks..i'll look for it.

Not bashin you or anything, but it's called a "version" for a reason. A different take on the song, not to be identical. Leave it there, you're either a fan of the Cardigans or not.
I happen to be a huge fan of both versions, but thank god we all have different tastes/expectations or else this world would be one of blandness and mediocrity.

Yes, photos are from "Lost in Translation" with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansen. Not your typical Bill Murray movie though, so go into it with an open mind.

Sorry, JD. This version misses the soul that Bruce has loaded on his version. This ain´t nothin but a too fast and melodical karaoke-version.

I've got to agree with Mosquito22. Nothing beats Bruce's original. I l'm a big fan of this version though. Feel theres alot of heart and Nina Perssons Broken voice adds character to it. BRING ON BRUCE 2009 Got my tickets for HAMPDEN PARK, SCOTLAND. Seen him in Paris and Cardiff Last year.
