A test to see if lightsabers would be doable with a DSLR's rolling shutter. The results were not so promising.

  • did you use canon rebel t2i for your other videos

  • @totizedger No. AvN and Duel of the Dorks were shot on the HVX200, with a little Sony NX5U for DotD pickups. Prior to that I shot on the Sony VX2100, Canon GL2 and various other cameras; pretty much whatever I could find. I personally own the Canon 60D right now and intend on using it for a lot of stuff that doesn't require high action or a lot of matchmoving.

  • You need to turn up the shutterspeed in video mode... You have to change the Shutter/ AE lock to AE/AF, No ae lock then you can shange shutter speed

  • @bbabybry That would not fix the problem, which is the rolling shutter.

  • Pity that didn't work. You use carbon fiber blades?

  • @55vadamee Still aluminum as of this summer. We'll be switching to carbon fiber soon.
