Some photos that I took this past weekend of the Gator Roundup at Gator Fest. A big thank you to Mark Porter (Gator Man), Sarah Cerrone (Gator Fest Chairman), Brad Benesh and all the other great people.
Gator Fest is held in Chambers Co.; Anahuac, TX, where alligators outnumber people 3 to 1. Alligators are only hunted 20 days a year in East TX. Enjoy!

Music "Gator On My Lawn" is by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers (If you like this song, please purchase it at your favorite music store or music site)

  • Oh man. That's crazy. Tell me...do these gators at gator round-up get eaten, or stuffed/mounted, or what?

  • All of the above. Nothing is wasted. They are usually sold. Then, the hide is tanned, the meat processed (alligator is a cajun cuisine), sometimes they are stuffed and mounted, or just the head is mounted, the teeth make great necklaces, nothing is wasted.

  • Magnificent creatures considering they were around when dinosaurs ruled. With human safety considered, may they live for as long as nature afford them that chances.

  • Thanks so much for watching & commenting. Marilyn

  • I never heard of a gator roundup up before but it looks like fun.Man their are rattlesnake roundups and gator roundups in texas, what do texans have against reptiles? But I know for a fact that gators are more dangerous than rattlers and they taste better too.I love me some fried gator.
