I don't understand - Surely all Jamaicans know that if you vote the incompetent PNP back into power that's exactly what you will reap incompetence - taking any handouts at any price, using no common sense, not caring nor having any understanding of the impact of their actions on the people of the country - but why Jamaica a bawl when a Jamaica vote dem back in...? A don't understand this....

Agreed! They need to broaden the tax base and actually start collecting taxes. I am sure this government does not collect more than 90% of the taxes owed to them. It's ridiculous

Ridiculous!! I heard about the land tax increase.What about all those J'can's who are retired on a fixed income ? . . We the people of Jamaica should not have to sacrifice anything as we did not enter into an agreement with the IMF. You licky-llicky politicians did & any payment to the IMF should come from your ridiculous salaries and benefits.This will wipe out the middle class (who actually pay bills) and leave you with the t'ief light,eat a food posse.

Taxes and more taxes how is this going to help a declining economy. I'm not an expert but I think lowering the taxes will get more people into the tax net, Find ways of collecting these taxes and put stringent penalties in place for compliance. Lower taxes will enable businesses to employ more people, increase production, consumer confidence will return and the dollar will stop sliding. Gas price a kill me
