Stockholm Syndrome by Muse
(c) Warner Bros Records/WMG

Lyrics:
I won't stand in your way
Let your hatred grow
And she'll scream and she'll shout and she'll pray
And she had a name. Yea she had a name

And I won't hold you back
Let your anger rise
And we'll fly and we'll fall and we'll burn
Noone will recall. Noone will recall

This is the last time I'll abandon you
And this is the last time I'll forget you
I wish I could

Look to the stars
Let hope burn in your eyes
And we'll love and we'll hope and we'll die
All to no avail. All to no avail.

This is the last time I'll abandon you
And this is the last time I'll forget you
I wish I could
This is the last time I'll abandon you
And this is the last time I'll forget you
I wish I could
I wish I could

Song Meaning:
Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed. This is the song's theme, as reflected in lyrics such as, "This is the last time I'll forget you/I wish I could."

The syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm, Sweden, in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage and the victims became emotionally attached to their victimisers, and even defended their captors after they were freed from their six-day ordeal.

Yeah, that is true. Green Day's music is very melodic, catchy and accessible, they're basically a gateway band to many other awesome bands. People can like Green day without having to put in any effort. Muse, on the other hand, is much more diverse, creative and talented; additionally, Muse is a bit of an acquired taste, imo. Matt Bellamy's vocals are not for everyone. Muse requires more effort to get into, so that is probably why they lack popularity in the US.

That may be because Green Day´s music is just averagelly talented and everyone can listen to it without much effort to get it... Muse has a lot more of everything so it might be a little bit more confusing or difficult to get, let behind that they are not boxed into any urban tribe or whatever you wanna call it so there are not enough kids to identify with them to make them sell their records in the US.

well, they never get airplay and seem to be the king of advertising music...that's how I found them. It's also how I found Nessun Dorma (British Airways) in 1985!!
