Easter Road Stadium circa 1980. Notice the huge East terracing. Capacity at this point was over 60,000. The record crowd at Easter Road was 65,860 vs Hearts on 2nd January 1950 - the largest Football crowd ever seen in Edinburgh.

  • lol, ER held 60k in 1980. come on we all know what it held,it was a couple of thousand more than today. do you really think people are going to beleive 30 years ago Hibs had a 60k stadia. i was there plenty of times then!

  • The stadium was pretty much unchanged since the 50's and we were getting 60k then so ..... hmmm.

  • your soundy like a sulkky schoolboy, lad. As i said Ive been going to easter road since late 70's and evry time i was there there were 10/13k,depending on game! GHibs got 60k. show us the evidence then ill believe you. not evidence from the 20's or 40's,when we all got huge attendances but the 50k+ as u say!we all support our clubs but come on be realistic mn! Ive sonme fond memories of easter road in the 1980's. u were the only lads to try it with us. fair play 4 that

  • Mr Eats. I didn't say we GOT crowds of 60k, I simply said that the CAPACITY was about 60k - two very different things. Now you have chosed to jump on my stat that we GOT crowds of 60k in 1980, something that you have incorrectly assumed. Please reconsider your line of argument. Best wishes.

  • Easter Road held about 35,000 at this time. On the 28 February 1973, we played Rangers in a midweek Scottish Cup replay game in the afternoon (due to power cuts) and the crowd was 49,000. Hibs lost 1 - 2 on the day. This had been out biggest crowd for many years and there's no way you would have got another 11,000 into the ground!

  • @shaftsbury94 yes

  • @caligiulo we are both thick but i got the right spelling anyway.

  • @shaftsbury94 oh look it's written here above, Mogway - hunted by a freak :lol

  • @caligiulo mogwai the band, dunno the song

  • According to the StMichael "Soccer Yearbook" of 1985, the Capacity of Easter Road was 29,464...

  • name of the song?

  • The Hibs stadium could hold 60,000+ during the days of the famous five. But that was before the tier that sat above the east terracing got removed, the away dunbar end got quartered, and the cowshed got seats. By 1980 hibernian stadium at a squeeze could perhaps accomadate 30,000

  • that would have been minted seeing the ground like that the last that i seen was the old west The east in this video this cool unlike the shity new east
