Ive heard that the trios for NYX are not as good as the single versions of each, do you know if this is true?

lol.. I have to.. Enkore, it's pronounced Knicks. Nyx was a greek goddess of the night. :-P if you notice, most of the names of the colors are of greek origin.

yep - after this vid I started refering to it as KNICKS - just when it first came about, people knew it as N-Y-X - then their website cleared all that out :)

Hi Enkore,
I have a dilemma. Im on a TIGHT budget and I an aspiring makeup artist and Im currently working up my makeup collection. I LOVE mac, but not the price. I want to be taken seriously as an artist so I need high quality products. Is NYX a good product for my clients as well as my pockets ??

Hey Peridot - I know it is quite an investment to build up your kit, but as a makeup artist, it is really best to go for the name brands. Think about the clients, would they go for a makeup artist that use high-end products like MAC or cheaper products? You will need to stay competitive with other makeup artists out there to stay in business. Ask around what line they carry mostly in their kits. Altho NYX is up and coming, are your customers gonna want them over MAC?

Ahh i just saw this trio today for three dollars and completely ignored my temptation to buy it!
What would you say to someone that wanted to do this look, and instead of using the brown pencils to line and deepen the crease (I have a deep crease as it is) and using a liquid/cream black liner to tight line?

sure you can definitely use alternatives. Just make sure what ever you use for tight-lining is waterproof, smudgeproof, and longwearing.
