Norway, January 3rd 2004. Starting from the fjord-side village of Flam (pronounced Flom), the Flamsbana train climbs thousands of feet over only a few miles, on one of the steepest normal traction (i.e. no cogs or cables involved) lines in the world. It also passes through some very spectacular landscapes.
