This video is part of my communication project for the IT Perspectives class at Florida State University. It details the basics of using Acronis True Image 11 to make regular incremental backups of your system to an external hard drive.

If you have any questions or comments about the video, please do not hesitate to contact me - I will be happy to help. And if you have any employment opportunities, I would be even happier to send you my resume.

  • I PXE boot to Acronis TI home and image my machines over the network. (;>} )

  • An excellent strategy but rather outside the focus of the video. Our assignment was to make a tutorial for non-technical users and I believe preboot execution environments are a bit over the head of you average PC user.

  • Not that I should reasonably expect the average PC user to backup their computer at all really, but I least I tried to make it clear for them.

  • Farstone@DriveClone offers backup & recovery

  • So let say i backed up my vista and now using windows 7 if i want to use vista again how do i reinstalled the os ?

  • Nice presentation overall, however, I find the background music very distracting and really has little or no value in your presentation. Thanks for the otherwise clear, concise information. Yours is one of the better presentations!

  • 9:26 ROFL I know that's right LOL

  • You just use the Acronis cd or DVD to boot from, then just follow the directions.

  • hey dude, Ive followed ur guide, how do i recover everything now from the backup, Do i create a boostable rescue disk???

  • But when the trail is over, can you still access and use the .tif file???

  • OK. But how to restore these files if Windows wont even boot itself?

  • it does slow down my system. since acronis take so much resource of RAM. any suggestion?
